Skete from Paltiniș is a major tourist attraction of Paltinis Resort, resort located 32 kilometers southwest of the city of Sibiu. This monastery is a wooden church built in the early twentieth century. Hermitage Church is located at a height of 1.350 meters at the foot on Cindrelului Mountains at a distance of 500 meters from the highway Paltiniș - Sibiu.
Metropolitan of Transylvania Nicolae Balan founded the church around 1930. Hermitage consists of a wooden church recently painted tree and a house of rest for employees Orthodox Church.
Paltiniș Skete is dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Lord, and has an iconostasis made between 1944-1945. Among the important items in the church of the hermitage is icon of the Holy Mother Paraskeva, painted around the year 1904. Bell hermitage is built to higher plateau near the church. The bell tower has two bronze bells.
The Paltiniș Hermitage has a piece of the Holy Cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified. This has been brought 1,000 years ago in Netherlands, Dutch priests donating to Romanian Orthodox Church in 2004.
Near the Hermitage is the tomb of Romanian philosopher Constantin Noica, who died in 1987. Hi spent his last years of life in the monastery. Besides this tomb, can be visited his memorial house too.
