History Museum of Sibiu was founded in 1959 and is part of the National Brukental Museum. It is also known as the Altemberger, name taken after the name of the first owner. Thomas Altemberger built the location between 1470-1491. In 1545 the building was taken by the city and became City Hall, having this status until 1948.
